The Mongolian national football team is ruled by the Mongolian Football Federation, which was founded in 1959. Throughout a long period between 1960 and 1998 the team stayed aside from international competitions. The football federation is a member of the East Asian Football Federation and the Asian Football Confederation.
The biggest defeat was in 1998, when Mongolia lost at Uzbekistan 0-15. Between 2011 and 2014 the team has been suspended to participate in East Asian Cup.
