Montserrat is an Ireland in the region of the Caribbean. The national team was formed in 1973 but the first official international match they played in 1991. That was a 0-3 loss at Saint Lucia in the Caribbean Cup campaign. The Montserrat national team is a member of CONCACAF.
Since mid-1990s the team the island has suffered from volcanic activity. In 1996 the football federation of Montserrat became the member of FIFA but the following four years the team didn’t take part in competitions because of volcanos. In2002 the team took part in their first qualification campaign for World Cup, the next campaign followed in 2006.
The national team of Montserrat used The Blakes Estate Stadium as their home ground. It located in Plymouth, which then was abandoned. Currently they use Blakes Estate Stadium, which was built for FIFA funds. It has a capacity for 1,000.
