The Palestine national team represents the State of Palestine on the international arena. It is controlled by the Palestine Football Association which was recognized by FIFA in 1998 preceded by the Palestine Football Federation until the state gained its authority.
The team got a first taste of international action in a 1-8 loss to Egypt in 1953. It is their biggest defeat for the date. The squad celebrated their biggest ever 11-0 win over Guam in 2006.

However, the team made a relative success in the Pan Arab Games finishing third in 1999 and fourth in 2011. The also recorded the fourth place in the AFC Challenge Cup in 2012.
