The Panama national football team is controlled by the Panamanian Football Federation and CONCACAF. Under the guidance of Julio Dely Valdes the team reached the 48th position in the FIFA World Rankings. Estadio Rommel Fernandez is its home stadium.
During the team’s history it has tried to qualify for different international championships but mainly without success. In 1993 Panama succeeded in the CONCACAF Gold Cup when reached the first round, in 2005 it finished runner-up. The team played in the quarterfinal in 2007 and 2009 and reached semifinal in 2011.
The worst team’s performance was a game against Costa Rico 0-11 in 1938 and the best one was against Puerto Rico 12-0 in 1946.
