Adebayor apologizes for the dismissal in the North London derby

Tottenham Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor issued a public apology to his teammates for the dismissal in the clash between bitter rivals Arsenal and Tottenham. The dismissal proved costly for Spurs - they were simply unable to withstand the rampaging Arsenal attack and lost 5-2.

“I completely understand my sending off changed the entire outcome of the game and I whole-heartedly apologise to my team-mates, the manager and all the Tottenham fans for letting them down,” Adebayor told The Sun.

It took Emmanuel Adebayor just 7 minutes to turn from hero to a villain in the North London derby: Togo striker gave the team the lead with a simple finish in the 10th minute, and in the 17th minute he saw red for the vicious foul on Santi Cazorla.

Not the first time Adebayor put the team’s position under the question in the game against his former employers due to his wild temper. It is to be recalled that Ade scored the goal and was sent off in the clash between Man City and Arsenal in 2009.
