Agger does not want to leave Liverpool
Liverpool centre-back Daniel Agger revealed he wants to see out his contract with Liverpool, amid the rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona.
Despite Dane having recently signed an extension to his deal, the speculations suggest he could be joining the La Liga giants in summer. Manchester City are also said to be interested in securing the services of the 28-year-old.
Agger is considered a firm first-choice player at Anfield and has been an ever-present in Rodgers’ side. He has made 45 appearances in all competitions, scoring 5 goals.
Asked if he considered the possibility of leaving Anfield, Agger said: “I still have three years left and I intend to fulfil them. There are always rumours, but who is creating them? I don’t know. It is not a bad thing to be linked with top clubs but you have to take 70% of the speculation off and then you have the reality.”
The Dane revealed he admires the career of his teammate Jaime Carragher, who is set to retire at the end of the season. He said: “Jamie speaks for himself. To be at that level for that long, it’s not impossible but really close. You learn from every single player you play with in training. If you want to be the best you have to learn from the best.”
