Arsenal Andre Santos to join Gremio

Sky Sports informs that Arsenal misfit Andre Santos is on the verge of joining Gremio after flying to Brazil to complete the paperwork.

The 29-year-old left back has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular after joining the club in 2011 for around €7 million. He has made just 23 appearances in two seasons for Arsenal, having scored 2 goals.

Andre Santos revealed he welcomes the new challenge and is excited about the perspective of playing under Vanderlei Luxemburgo. He said: “I have the best expectations. They are one of the biggest clubs in the country. I’ve come to Gremio to be a champion. I am very excited about this project. I have dreamed of working with Luxemburgo. He is a top manager in our football.”
