Arsenal Diaby out for eight months

Arsenal Diaby out for eight months

Injury-plagued Arsenal have suffered yet another blow to their chances of outstripping their rivals Tottenham in race for the Champions League spot next season, as midfielder Abou Diaby has been struck by a severe injury.

Diabyy tore anterior cruciate ligament in his knee at the training session. The medical assessment revealed he needs to undergo a surgery. The process of recovery could take around nine months, which means Wenger will not be able to offload the player in summer as he intended.

Diaby’s career at the Emirates stadium has been marred by a series of serious injuries. He spent the whole previous season on the sidelines due to calf and hamstring problems, while the number of appearances in 2012-2013 season were limited to 20 due to various injuries.

Besides Diaby, Wilshere Walcott and Gibbs will also be out of the forthcoming Premier league clash against Reading.
