Arsenal set to increase wage budget to lure top-class players

Arsenal hierarchy is prepared to raise their wage budget in a bid to stimulate active transfer campaign in summer.

Wenger has revealed he needs to bring in three to four world-class players in the Emirates stadium to build the team, which could be capable to compete with the moneybags Man City and Chelsea. According to the recent rumours, the signing of a top-quality striker is Frenchman’s priority with Fiorentina hitman Stevan Jovetic being on top of his wish list. Meanwhile Arshavin, Squillaci, Sagna, Bendtner, Santos, Djourou, Ju-young Park, Chamakh, Frimpong and Denilson are all believed to be hading for an exit from the club in summer which could save the Gunners £24 million per year on wages.

Wenger has also set his scout network in motion to find a reliable goalkeeper and a good holding midfielder.
