Arsenal target Japan Eintracht’s Inui

Arsenal are seriously considering the possibility of signing the Eintracht Frankfurt’s playmaker Takashi Inui.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has instructed his chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the 24-year-old Japan international in action and was to such an extent impressed with Rowley’s report, he put the player on top of his wish list. Recent reports suggest Wenger is set to splash the cash in summer in order to rebuild his underperforming side.

The Gunners will be looking for a new centre-back, striker and defensive midfielder this summer. However Inui is clearly “Wenger’s type of player” – he is pacey, technically gifted midfielder who can be played as a playmaker or out wide.

Inui’s deal is set to expire in two years and Eintracht Frankfurt are unlikely to sell their talented player, who has made 33 appearances this season scoring six goals, for anything less than €5 million.
