Arsenal target Napoli Cavani

Arsenal target Napoli Cavani

According to Daily Mail Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to ‘spend big’ during January transfer window and is ready to splash the cash on Napoli prolific striker Edinson Cavani.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan is one of the most wanted football players on the continent. He has scored 16 Serie A goals and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Manchester City. And the perspective of signing Cavani has undoubtedly excited Arsenal fans. However his £50 million price tag may be a major stumbling block as the Frenchman does not like to overpay for the in-demand players. He may be eager to play a waiting game to drive down a price a bit.

‘I like him as a player. Will he cost a lot of money? That’s for sure. Nobody would deny that. Our banker lives just next to me at the moment and he is ready if we find the right player,’ – said Wenger at the press-conference on Thursday.

This news comes as a pleasant surprise to most of Arsenal fans who have been recently frustrated with Wenger’s reluctance to bring new recruits to the Emirates stadium, despite having funds at his disposal.

Why not have tried to do it before??? Hoped to escape with just a modest young squad? Were hardly competitive with RVP, now just Giroud & Podolski..
