Ashley Cole pens record Chelsea deal

Daily Mail reports Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has put pen to paper on a new lucrative one-year deal worth £200,000 per week that will keep him at the Stamford Bridge until 2014.

The new deal has made the 32-year-old England international the highest-paid defender in the history of world football. The deal came as a surprise for the most of Chelsea fans who believed Cole leaves the club this summer following the way of another fans’ favorite Frank Lampard. However after weighing up the options and concluding that the signing of a replacement of a similar quality will cost the club at least £15 million Chelsea have decided to meet Cole’s demands.

Cole has made 20 appearances this season scoring one goal.
