Aston Villa Vlaar rallies troops for survival push
Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar is rallying his troops for a push to avoid the relegation from Premier League by beating Queens Park Rangers in the crucial six-pointer.
The 28-year-old defender has reassured the fans that the team is ready to fight till the bitter end to secure Premier League status this season. Vlaar has recovered from injury just in time to help his team to a vital away win against Reading, and with the forthcoming fixture against the Queens Park Rangers the captain issued a rallying call.
After a series of disappointing performances the Villans seem to be on the right track, as they secured two victories in their last five games.
Vlaar said: “That was a good start at Reading but Saturday’s game is immense,” said Vlaar.
“It was a very important win for us and we really needed that one against another team in a similar situation. But besides the last two games against very good teams in City and Arsenal, we have had good results.
“That is what we have to do - we know we have to work hard and try to win games. We want to make everybody happy, with 34,000-35,000 people at home,” added the Dutchman.
