Atletico Madrid ready to part ways with Falcao

Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin revealed the Spanish side will have no problems to find a replacement to their star player Radamel Falcao.

Prolific striker Falcao, who has netted 34 goals in 41 appearances for his club this season, is considered one of the hottest property in the world. Host of top European sides including Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and PSG are looking to enter the battle for his signature this summer.

It looks as though Atletico Madrid have accepted Falcao’s move away from the club as a given, with Atletico Madrid chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin being confident they will find a replacement rather sooner than later. It is to be recalled that Atletico Madrid managed to successfully survive the departure of such high-profile players as Forlan and Aguero.

Miguel Angel Gil Marin said: “Atletico knows how to change good strikers,” Marin told Sky Sports. “Fernando Torres, Forlan, Aguero and now Falcao. We don’t know who exactly will be the next one but we know Atletico will have a strong team next season.

“Before the start of the season we talked with the player and we promised him that if he kept the same performance and helped us to the UEFA Champions League, Atletico would help him. Every decision that he takes, Atletico will be with him,” he added.
