Atletico Madrid to replace Falcao with Benteke

Atletico Madrid to replace Falcao with Benteke

Atletico Madrid are weighing up a move for Aston Villa goal-scoring sensation Christian Benteke to replace departing Faclao.

It looks like Atletico Madrid will be forced to sell their prolific striker Radamel Falcao to ambitious moneybags Monaco. That is why they are already planning their life without Columbian and looking to sign Benteke to fill in Falcao’s shoes.

Benteke has wowed both the fans and the pundits scoring 19 goals in 34 Premier League appearances this season. This is hardly surprising, his recent revelation that he will listen to any forthcoming offers, has put top European sides on alert. He said: “If Aston Villa say I must stay, I won’t necessarily accept that. I do not in any way want to feel I didn’t get the most out of my career.”

With almost £50 million to spend after the sale of their goal-machine, Atletico Madrid appear to be favourites to sign the player. La Liga giants are ready to table £20million to secure the services of the 22-year-old Belgium international.
