Atletico Madrid Turan wants to stay

Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan has moved to silence the rumours as regards his future, by admitting he is determined to stay at Vicente Calderon.

The 26-year-old Turkey international has previously revealed he would like to move to a Premier League club one day, and Liverpool and Chelsea were reportedly ready to offer him such an opportunity.

With Turan spending yet another excellent season with Atletico Madrid, several top European clubs have joined the chase for his signature. But the player ruled out the reports that he could leave Atleti, after the La Liga club managed to qualify for Champions League, finishing the season in the third spot, behind champions Barcelona and runners-up Real Madrid. He said: “I am going to stay with Atletico. I cried for five minutes after the final game of the season because it was like being in another dimension. It was impossible to stop the tears. This team fought with spirit, blood and faith.”
