Australia qualified for 2014 World Cup in Brazil after a win over Iraq

Australia became the second country to book their place in 2014 World Cup final stage in Brazil, after a dramatic last-gasp win over Iraq.

Josh Kennedy came off the bench to score a much-needed match-winning goal seven minutes before the final whistle to earn Australia crucial win.

The result allowed the Socceroos to secure the second spot in their Asian qualifying Group B, seven points behind winners Japan, which guarantees them automatic qualification for their third successive World Cup . The victory also meant Iraq lost any chances of reaching World Cup qualification, while slim hopes of Oman and Jordan were ended as well.
