Bale not for sale, claim Tottenham. United are believed to offer £60m
It has emerged that Manchester United launched a nothing less than £60 million bid for the hottest football commodity in Britain, Gareth Bale.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of signing a prolific midfielder after missing out on Thiago Alcantara and Cesc Fabregas presumably unwilling to leave his beloved Barcelona. The Welshman would be a perfect fit for the club and would prove the club to have ambition and still possess global impact.
However, André Villas-Boas does not seem prone to bid farewell to his main joker this summer and Tottenham are quite calm on the situation as Bale is still under contract with the Spurs.
Still, United might be a lucrative option for the Welshman as he does not have serious European prospects with Tottenham. This would make even more sence keeping in mind that Bale does not get any serious football on the national level either.
The saga continues.
