Barca’s Villa revealed he wants a new challenge
Barca’s striker Villa has given a major boost to Arsenal’s hopes of signing him after informing Barcelona hierarchy he wants to leave the club in the near future.
The 31-year-old Spaniard is reportedly frustrated by the lack of the first-team football at the Nou Camp. He was kept on the sidelines by his manager Tito Villanova since recovering from the long-term injury in the beginning of the season. When given a chance Villa demonstrated his predatory instincts remain as sharp as ever.
For example has scored two goals in Barca’s King’s Cup quarter-finals 5-0 win over Cordoba on January, 10. He has made just 13 appearances for the club scoring 5 goals.
The talks between Arsenal and Barcelona chiefs over a possible move for Villa are ongoing and the Gunners believe the deal can go through by the end of the transfer window.
