Barcelona eye Rooney switch

Barcelona emerged as a shock contender for the signature of Manchester United’s striker Wayne Rooney, as the Englishman revealed in a private conversation he wants a new contract.

The recent speculations have linked the player with a move away from Old Trafford, after he was dropped from the first XI by Sir Alex Ferguson for the crucial Champions League game against Real Madrid. PSG were considered as his most likely destination, as they were ready to match his wage demands. Now it looks like the player, who is dissatisfied with his current contract, may be willing to join Barca who are eager to lure him with a lucrative deal.

Rooney has reiterated himself that he is a long-term admirer of Messi’s and Iniesta’s talent, and should the offer be made he would find it hard to resist. His son, Kai, was spotted wearing BArca shirt while visiting Liverpool with his wife.
