Barcelona target Liverpool Agger

Barcelona are plotting up a summer move for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger with a view of rejuvenating their defensive line.

The La Liga leaders have made a formal enquiry about the potential availability of Agger last summer, however they did not make a formal offer as the player has signed new long-term contract with Liverpool.

However, taking into account, that their key defender Carlos Puyol is not getting any younger and is considering the possibility of retiring from football, Barca are actively looking for a potential replacement to their leader. The Reds however are adamant to hold onto services of their player amid the lack of options at the back (Carragher confirmed retiring at the end of the season, Skrtel could make a switch to Zenit, Coates is linked with a return to South America).
