Bayern Leverkusen signed Korean wonderkid Son from Hamburg

Bayern Leverkusen have completed the signing of Hamburg starlet Son Heung-min and are ready to cash in on their valuable asset Andre Schurrle, who is expected to join Chelsea in the near future.

The 20-year-old Korean, who has spent an outstanding season with Hamburg, put pen to paper on a lucrative five-year contract. Son made 35 outings, scoring 12 goals and setting up another 2.

Leverkusen boss Wolfgang Holzhaeuser said: “We made it clear from the start that a transfer of Schuerrle to Chelsea would only happen if an adequate sporting alternative was possible. This alternative was now taken under contract with Son Heung-Min and so there is nothing blocking Andre Schuerrle’s transfer from our side.”
