Bayern Munich move closer to signing Lewandowski from Borussia

Daily Mail reports Man Utd seem to be missing out on their long-term target Borussia striker Robert Lewandowski as Lothar Matthaus revealed the Polish international has already signed the agreement with the German giants.

The recent speculations have linked the in-form 24-year-old hitman, whose contract is due to expire next year, with a move to Premier League leaders Man Utd. However recent news have fuelled the rumours Lewandowski set to become Guardiola’s firs signing upon taking charge of Bayern Munich in June.

Matthaus said: “I was on the road this week. I heard that Lewandowski has an agreement with Bayern. Only the date of the move remains undecided. Lewandowski’s contract runs out in 2014 and Dortmund will only get a fee in 2013 - surely a high fee. I heard it was something between £20m-£25m, otherwise he will go to Bayern for free next year.”
