Berbatov reminds Ferguson he is still top-level, Hazard and Morin make promising debut for Chelsea

Yesterday the Premier League clubs played friendly matches.

Manchester United competed against Amazulu in Durban and won 1-0 as Federico Macheda scored the only goal for the Red Devils. Alex Ferguson took the chance to set an eye on plenty of youngsters starting for the club. The squad also included Scholes and Ferdinand while a new signing Kagawa appeared only on the 89th minute. Manchester United still uncertain about Dimitar Berbatov future as the Bulgarian claimed he had no hope of staying in the club having no chance to play in the first team. Italy might be his destination with Milan and Juventus interested in the aging forward.

Tottenham Hotspur with a new coach Andre Villas-Boas secured a comfortable 2-0 win against Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium as Gylfi Sigurdsson that joined the team only this season scored an opening goal.

Aston Villa defeated Philadelphia Union 1-0 at PPL Park. Delfouneso made a long-range shot into the bottom-left corner two minutes before half-time.

Chelsea started successfully their USA tour outperforming Seattle Sounders 4-2 with both Eden Hazard and Marko Marin scoring in their debut appearances for the Blues.
