Birmingham's Butland snubs Chelsea

Birmingham's Butland snubs Chelsea

Daily Mail informs that Chelsea have made a formal bid for highly-rated Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland who is seen as an England goalkeeper of the future.

Birmingham are currently experiencing severe financial crisis and are prepared to offload their stars to try and save themselves from bankruptcy. Chelsea have decided to take the advantage of Birmingham woes and land their star goalie in a cut-price deal. The Championship side has accepted £3 million offer and given the permission to talk with the player.

However Butland is believed to snub Chelsea after they fail to guarantee him a firm first-team role at the Stamford Bridge. Butland made it clear that he is reluctant to sit on the bench behind Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois.
