Blaszczykowski extended his stay at Dortmund

Blaszczykowski extended his stay at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski put pen to paper on a new long-term deal with his club to dismiss the speculation linking whim with a move away from Westfalenstadion.

The 27-year-old Poland international has joined Borussia Dortmund from Wisla Krakow back in 2007. He has since made 168 appearances for the club, netting 25 goals and setting up another 41. He agreed a lucrative four-year deal, which will keep at the club up until 2018.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc revealed the club is delighted their valuable asset is set to remain at the club, stating: “Kuba is an important cornerstone of our team, both sportingly and in terms of his character, and he was outstanding across Europe last season. We are delighted to be able to form a long-term future with him.”

Blaszczykowski won 60 caps for Poland national team and is considered firm first-choice player both by his club and country. Kuba said: “I feel this is my second home. When my contract expires, I will be able to look back on over a decade with BVB. That’s not something which you can take for granted in professional football nowadays.”
