Boca Juniors continues successful run in the Copa Libertadores

The Argentine club defeated Nacional 1-0 despite playing with 10 men for 70 minutes.

Riquelme netted his first goal for Boca since returning to the side from an eight-month sabbatical. Boca was dominating in the game against Nacional up until the point when defender Claudio Perez brought down Nacional player Juan Albin in the box in the first half. Perez received his second yellow card and was sent off, yet Ivan Alonso missed the chance to score from the penalty spot and to give Nacional a lead.

It was two minutes of the half remaining when Boca was awarded a penalty after forward Juan Manuel Martinez was brought down in by Andres Scotti. Subsequently Riquelme scored from the spot setting the record of 24 goals in the tournament.
