Borussia Dortmund chase Liverpool target Mkhitaryan

Borussia have reportedly launched a bid of £19.5million or Shakhtar Donetsk star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Ukrainian side has confirmed they have received an offer from the German giants for their in-demand midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but are unlikely to settle for anything less than £25 million. At the same time they have revealed they are yet to receive a formal offer for the player from Liverpool.

Shakhtar’s chief executive Sergei Palkin said: “Borussia offered $30m (£19.5m) for the midfielder. I contacted Mkhitaryan’s agent yesterday. I wrote to him about the official position of the club.

“We are prepared to sell Mkhitaryan for €30m (£25m). This offer stands for the next 10 days. If Mkhitaryan wishes to leave, they have to pay this amount for him.”
