Borussia eye Dzeko switch

Borussia eye Dzeko switch

Daily Mirror informs Bundesliga title holders Borussia Dortmund are seriously considering possibility of signing Man City striker Edin Dzeko.

Manchester City are said to be ready to offload some of their high-earning players in summer in order to ease the burden on payroll. Dortmund are willing to offer the 26-year-old Bosnia international an escape route to Germany, where he was enjoying his football with Wolfsburg.

Dortmund are looking for a replacement to their star Robert Lewandowski, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Man Utd. However Dzeko’s £120,000 per week could be a major stumbling block during the negotiations between two clubs. It is likely the Bosnian striker, who has been reportedly unhappy with his role at the club, would be offered to take huge pay-cut.

Dzeko has netted 12 goals in 23 Premier League appearances this season.
