Bundesliga fixtures preview: Schalke 04 vs Bayer Leverkusen

The biggest game of Matchday 29 in Germany is the battle of Schalke 04 and Bayer Leverkusen that compete for the third place in the table.

Schalke progressed to the fourth spot after a 2-0 victory over Werder Bremen last Saturday as Frankfurt lost to Bayern. Leverkusen is more consistent in Bundesliga this term, the team won 14 fixtures and lost seven and the side is determent to clinch the bronze medals this season and three points in the upcoming fixture would almost guarantee that.

The clubs grabbed three victories each in the previous six meetings, yet the last game saw Schalke concede two times courtesy of Andre Schürrle and Stefan Kiessling shots.
This time the Royal Blues will be more motivated by the chance of reaching a Champions League place as Schalke suffered a disappointing exit from the European arena this season when they to Galatasaray in the Round of 16 at home.

The Ruhr giants started the season with a superb performance, but afterwards the defense line of the side turned into the weakest line and the team conceded 43 goals so far which the worst result from top 8 teams.

Leverkusen on the other hand is far more balanced team with an emphasis on counter-attacks with fast legs of Andre Schürrle, Stefan Kiessling and Lars Bender.
