Capello link with PSG job ruled out by Russian Football Association

Russian Football Association moved in to dismiss the rumours linking Russia manager Fabio Capello with a job at Paris Saint Germain.

The recent speculation suggested the former England manager, who had spells with Real Madrid and Juventus at the club level, is the favourite to succeed Real Madrid-bound Carlo Ancelotti.

Ligue 1 champions ruled out the possibility of their manager taking over La Lig giants, insisting the Italian remains committed to his contract. The RFU took a similar step and announced Capello will see out his contract with Russia before deciding on his future.

A statement on an official Russian Football Association website read: “In regard to the numerous media reports concerning a possible move of Russia’s national team coach Fabio Capello to Paris St Germain, the Union officially states that the coach has a contract with the RFU.

“(The contract) runs until after the final stages of the 2014 World Cup, which will be held in Brazil, and Capello is satisfied with his work as the head coach of the national team.

“Based on these facts, the Italian will fulfil his contract until it is completed.”
