Carles Puyol is out for eight weeks

Barça captain dislocated his left elbow in Champions League match against Benfica on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old had recently recovered from a knee injury and awkwardly fell down in the win over Benfica. He was taken to the local hospital where the diagnosis was confirmed.

The club’s official website reported: ‘The club captain will undergo conservative treatment. He is expected to be out for about eight weeks.’

Puyol feels optimistic writing in his tweeter that soon he would be back again, but Tito Vilanova can’t but be bewildered with the situation as Barcelona has a perfect start this season, winning all eight of the La Liga matches and the Champions League games.
