Cassano wants to leave Milan

The Italian forward Antonio Cassano asks Milan for a transfer.

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani stated that Antonio Cassano asked for a transfer and the most probable scenario right now is a swap of a player.

Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri was disappointed about the news, underlying that the forward spent a year and a half in the club and did quite well during the first six months, ‘making the difference on the field’. Yet Allegri explained that the problems with player’s heart hampered his progress in the squad.

The head coach added he does not want to keep forward in the team, stating: ‘it’s not a good idea to keep players against their will – it would not be good for Cassano or Milan.’ Milan boss noted now the club needs a forward that can play close to centre-forward position.
