Celtic defended the champions' title

Celtic were crowned the Scottish champions for the third successive year as they beat Partick Thistle 5-1 on Wednesday.

Anthony Stokes (twice), Liam Henderson, Stefan Johansen and Kris Commons scored for The Bhoys to secure a prolific 5-1 win over Partick Thistle and clinch a third straight Scottish title.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon claimed:
“Supporters are seeing Celtic dominate Scottish football and some of the older ones haven’t seen these heady days for a long long time. Since Martin O’Neill came in in 2000, it has been superb, Gordon Strachan took over and I am just following on in that tradition”.

Celtic’s only competitor since Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen in the 80s, fellow Glasgowian side Rangers, secured promotion to the second tier earlier on. Should Ibrox neighbours have another successful season next year, the great rivalry could return in 2015.
