Group D
Bayern Munich start defending the title with a home match against Russian champions CSKA Moscow. Pep Guardiola fielded the strongest side against Hannover three days ago and might surprise the visitors with new faces on the night. CSKA top the Russian Premier League after eight matches and have enough European experience to compete with the champions. Manchester City start their third straight European campaign in Plzen, the Czech Republic, as Manuel Pellegrini is expected to bring in his experience to avoid the repeat of City’s bashful displays in the Champions League under Roberto Mancini.
