Champions League fixtures: Another Old Trafford challenge for United and Manchester City travel to Allianz Arena

With two games in hand the clubs competing in the Champions League enter the crucial stage of group round.

Group A

There is no turning point for David Moyes as the third straight defeat at Old Trafford would put him under unprecedented critisism and leave Manchester United on the brink of elimination from the Champions League in the round of 16 as they would face one of the European heavyweights should they finish second in the group. However, Shakhtar Donetsk are yet to qualify and must win to finish top of Bayer Leverkusen.

Galatasaray and Juventus are getting ready for a face-to-face clash in Istanbul to claim the second spot in the group behind Real Madrid that travel to Denmark.

Benfica Lisbon and Olympiacos must win their respective matches against PSG and Anderlecht to hope for the round of 16, and the Greek side are in pole position as they beat Jorge Jesus’ team in Piraeus and shared points in Portugal.

An entertaining fixture in Munich between Bayern and Manchester City with the two clubs looking for the first place in the group. Viktoria and CSKA Moscow aspire for a place in Europa League.

A home victory against Steaua will secure a first-place finish for Chelsea, while Schalke 04 and Basel meet in Germany to compete for the second place.

Both Porto and Zenit need wins as the two teams travel to Madrid and Vienna respectively.
