Champions League Group D openers

A thrilling match: Real Madrid 3-2 Manchester City.

Nothing about the match could be anticipated. Nothing was clear until the mid of the second half as time went on and no goals were scored.

It was Edin Dzeko, who came off the bench to put the visitors ahead at the Santiago Bernabeu. City had hopes to win opening match until Marcelo scored a 75th-minute equalizer.

Aleksandar Kolarov retained the lead once again five minutes from time, that immediately was cancelled out via Karim Benzema’s goal, which brought bitter disappointment for City’s fans.

Real’s talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo crashed City with his winning strike on 90th minute so the Premier League champions lost the lead twice and Jose Mourinho’s men did everything possible to snatch this dramatic win.

Borussia Dortmund notched a narrow win against Ajax securing three points in the Champions League Group D opener on Tuesday night.

Neither side managed to break the deadlock until Robert Lewandowski scored a late goal. None effort or attack turned into an outright success until the 86th minute, when the Poland international used the chance to bring BVB ahead. They will face Manchester City in the next group match and that can’t but put pressure on Bundesliga outfit.
