Chelsea Cahill set to miss two more weeks

Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez revealed centre-back Gary Cahill has undergone a surgery on his knee at the end of March.

Cahill has been on the sidelines since picking up a knee injury during the Blues 2-0 win over West Ham on the 17th of March. The 27-year-old England international is set to miss two more weeks after the knee surgery however Benitez remains optimistic as regards the process of his recovery.

He said: “He had an operation. We did it very quickly on the Saturday of the Southampton game (30 March),” said Benitez.

Ashley Cole’s hamstring problem is another concern for Benitez. Left-back will also likely be out of forthcoming Europe League quarter-final second leg against Rubin Kazan. “The feeling from both is really good,” revealed Benitez.
