Chelsea chase Birmingham Butland

Daily Mirror states Chelsea are lining up an eyebrow-raising move for highly-rated Birmingham goalie Jack Butland.

The Blues’ squad is packed with quality goalkeepers with Petr Cech consistently putting in excellent performances for the first team and Thibaut Courtois impressing between the sticks on loan at Atlético Madrid. However Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has set his sights on landing yet another one decent goalkeeper - 19-year-old Jack Butland. Cash-strapped Birmingham are reportedly ready to part ways with their star at a bargain price to ease the financial crisis.

Rafa Benitez is reportedly considering Butland as a relatively cheap and yet quality addition to his squad who could be used as a backup player. Chelsea are prepared to snap up the promising goalkeeper for a fee as low as £3 millionю
