Chelsea Mikel fined and banned for three games

uk.eurosport.yahoo.com states that the FA fined Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel £60 000 and banned him for three games after he was found guilty of using abusive words towards referee Mark Clattenburg.

The incident came after the final whistle of the match between Chelsea and Man Utd. The Nigeria international was dissatisfied with several Clattenburg’s decisions and believed that the referee has racially abused him. Frustrated player has threatened the referee to “break his legs”.

Mark Clattenburg was suspended from fulfilling his duties during the official investigation launched by the FA. He has now returned to refereeing.

Mikel will miss three Premier League clashes against Sunderland and Aston Villa as well as the League Cup match against Leeds United.
