Chelsea in talks with Mourinho

Chelsea in talks with Mourinho

According to Daily Mail Chelsea have entered the negotiations with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho over possible return of the Portuguese to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues trigger-happy owner Roman Abramovich is said to be losing patience with Rafa Benitez who is in interim role at the club. The recent 3-2 defeat against Newcastle have put Chelsea hopes of securing the Champions’ League spot next season under serious threat as they are just one point ahead of the closest rivals Tottenham. And given Tottenham current run of form and Everton’s consistency they may be displaced from the Champions’ League zone sooner, rather than later. The Russian billionaire is rumoured to weight up an option of bringing back Jose Mourinho, the most successful boss in Chelsea history, to London.

After losing 1-0 to Granada Real Madrid are 15 points behind leaders Barcelona, the gap which is virtually impossible to bridge, fuelling the speculations about the likely Mourinho departure. It is likely the success of the negotiations between Chelsea owner and Mourinho depends on the degree of control the Russian would be willing to offer him.
