Cleverly withdrawn from England squad by Hodgson

Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is set to miss forthcoming England friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil after suffering a calf injury.

Cleverley has been considered a major doubt for England friendlies after sustained an injury during crazy United’s 5-5 draw with West Brom on the final day of the Premier League season. The Football Association announced the player will not be participation in the training session at George’s Park.

England manager Roy Hodgson has called up Man City defensive midfielder Jack Rodwell in case Cleverly will not return to full fitness, so Hodgson is not expected to add another player on his 21-man list.
