David Silva signed a five-year contract with Manchester City

The Spainish international remains with the club until summer 2017, getting £120,000 a week and as-you-play bonuses.

Silva follows the team’s captain Vincent Kompany and the goalkeeper Joe Hart, who have already signed a long-term deal with Manchester City.

He signed with City from Valencia for £26m in June 2010 and has already earned 107 caps and scored 14 goals for Manchester City.

The Spaniard reported to club’s official website: ‘I’m delighted with two years there. I feel very happy at the club, in the city and with all the people.

‘Now I am pleased to extend my contract and here I really feel like home.’

Silva also said that the team have already won the league title and now they aim at the Champions League.

‘These two years have been very good. So let’s hope that the next five years will go as well or even better,’ said Silva.
