Defoe out for three weeks

Defoe out for three weeks

Tottenham have confirmed their striker Jermaine Defoe will be out of contention for up to three weeks.

The 30-year-old hitman limped off during Spurs’ 1-0 win over WBA. After a thorough medical assessment, it was stated he has damaged ankle ligament. Defoe has been dropped out from England squad for a friendly against Brazil.

Defoe will definitely miss Premier League games against Newcastle on Saturday and West Ham on 25 of February, as well as two Europa League last 32 encounters against Lyon. Defoe’s injury hit hard Tottenham, as they are currently experiencing lack of options up front.
