Diarra injury worry for Fulham

Fulham have been hit with the news their experienced defensive midfielder Mahamadou Diarra could be out of contention for up to until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old Mali international has suffered setback during his recovery from a knee injury that limited him to just five first-team starts since December. Ex-Real Madrid has picked up an injury during Fulham loss at the hands of Tottenham in December and has undergone a surgery. He was expected to be back into action in the beginning of March.

The Cottagers’ boss Martin Jol revealed: “Diarra is still not right. He will need quite a while to come back, hopefully before the end of the season. He had an operation, looked better and then had a rest and it was even more painful. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will know more.”
