Dortmund Hummels determined to stay at the club

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has dismissed the rumours linking him away from Westfalenstadion.

The recent speculation suggested the 24-year-old German, who is looking to shake off his ankle injury to take part in the upcoming all-German final against arch rivals Bayern Munich, is set to join either Barcelona or Bayern in summer. But Hummels made it clear he does not wish to leave his club, stating: “I’ve not had any contact with Barcelona or any other club. I don’t think it’s my duty to dismiss rumours which other people invent. If there was to be any truth in them, I would say so. If I say that there is nothing behind the speculation, then people should believe me.”

Asked if the Saturday’s game against Bayern Munich will be his last in a yellow and black shirt he said: “Of course not.”

Hummels joined Borussia Dortmund from Bayern back in 2009, as he managed to impress the coaching staff with his performances. He has established himself as a firm first-team regular at Westfalenstadion.
