Drogba aims high in Europe

The Ivorian striker claims that his ultimate goal with Galatasaray is the Champions League title.

The Cote d’Ivoire internationa moved to the Istanbul based club in January, sealing a year-and-a-half deal. The Turkish side added force before the knock-out stage of the Champions League that starts in February and splashed money on Drogba and Wesley Sneijder who came from Inter.

In a recent interview for the Turkish press Drogba underlined that European success is his major priority in a new team.

“I’m coming to Galatasaray to take the Champions League. Galatasaray are a great club. Not only in Turkey, but in Europe too,” stated the forward.

The famous striker joined such players as Felipe Melo, Emmanuel Ebouein and the Dutch superstar Wesley Sneijder, and Drogba expressed his belief, the team has a great potential.

“I know that I’ve come to a side with big targets and proud fans. I can’t wait to wear their shirt, ” underlined former Chelsea player.

The striker revealed that the Turkish side tried to sign him before, but according to the player: “Last season Chelsea declined the offer because they wanted to keep me.”

Drogba left Chelsea in summer heading to the Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua where he stayed for half a year.
