England 2-1 Brazil
A display of attacking football saw Jack Wilshere pick up man of the match award during England’s 2-1 friendly victory over Brazil to record the first Three Lion’s win over Samba stars in 23 years (the last one was in 1990).
Wayne Rooney opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a rebound after Julio Cesar denied Walcott with a good stop. It was an error by Cahill that allowed Fred to score the equalizer in the 48th minute with a curling shot from just outside the area. Veteran midfielder Frank Lampard rounded off England’s victory in the 60th minute with a deftly executed finish.
Wilshere put in a man-of-the-match performance for England, being involved in the build-up to Rooney’s opening goal. Midfielder’s impressive display was in part down to the threat he caused on occasion to the opposition’s defense when he made killer passes.
