English Premier League. 5 things to remember after Day 27

The leaders got deserved victories but only Arsenal felt comfortable in getting three points.

John Terry is Chelsea true captain

Great champions like Manchester United have been renowned for keeping pressure on opponents until the last minute and getting points against all odds. Brilliant defensive display from The Toffees kept Chelsea at bay until the injury time when John Terry, who is living his Indian summer, scored the winner to keep The Blues ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City. You gotta believe Jose Mourinho, just like Sir Alex Ferguson, has the ability to get most of his players and from games.

Chelsea 1-0 Everton

Giroud has something to prove

Olivier Giroud, who had been busy settling personal affairs in the last week, had a point to prove to Arsene Wenger and Arsenal fans. After being skipped for the clashes with Liverpool and Bayern Munich, the French striker felt hungry and netted a brace before setting up brilliant Tomas Rosicky effort. Something to worry about for Yaya Sanogo.

Arsenal 4-1 Sunderland

Stumbling Manchester City

A month ago a Manchester City fixture would frighten any opponent and teams would be satisfied to leave Etihad with less than three goals conceded. But in February the free-scoring machine from Manchester got out of steam and only scored three times in five matches in all competitions and just one goal in the last three Premier League games. This goal came from Yaya Toure in the home game against Stoke City. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are now set for Sunday League Cup final against Sunderland at Wembley.

Manchester City 1-0 Stoke City

Manchester United reload

David Moyes took his Red Devils to the UAE for some training in the sun and they responded with an improved performance at Selhurst Park. Robin van Persie scored from penalty spot and Wayne Rooney celebrated his new £300k-a-week with a stunning volley. Michael Carrick, who played along Marouane Fellaini, registered a League record of 135 completed passes. United now travel to Greece for a Champions League encounter against Olympiacos.

Liverpool have now scored more than Manchester City in Premier League

Liverpool have shown their poor and strong sides at Anfield against Swansea City. Conceding three goals at home against a side fighting for survival in the top-flight is never too good. On the other side of the rainbow, The Reds never seem tired to finsh their deadly attacks. Steven Gerrard, Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho, Jordan Henderson, Luis Suarez can always produce a stunning assist for Daniel Sturridge or somebody else. Their flair and desire deserve credit, while Brendan Rodgers is on the right way of developing some spectacular British players.

Liverpool 4-3 Swansea City

Other results:
Newcastle United 1-0 Aston Villa
West Bromwich Albion 1-1 Fulham
Cardiff City 0-4 Hull City
West Ham United 3-1 Southampton
Norwich City 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur
