Europa League preview: Liverpool vs Zenit St. Petersburg

Europa League preview: Liverpool vs Zenit St. Petersburg

Liverpool have almost lost the chances of making it through to the next stage after losing 2-0 to Zenit at Petrovsky Stadium.

However, after an excellent attacking display delivered by the Reds in 5-0 demolition of Swansea, some pundits suggest they have an outside chance of winning by a three-goal margin which is necessary to progress.

Liverpool Coutinho and Sturridge are ineligible due to being cup-tied, which is a huge lost for Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Merseysiders are set to miss their centre-back Martin Skrtel, who has damaged knee at the training session, while Fabio Borini will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the Reds’ win over Swansea on Sunday.

Zenit are not expected to make any changes from the side which secured 2-0 victory in St. Petersburg.
